Still A Nation Of Immigrants?

Immigration to the United States has been a part of the nations history since the beginning of the countries history, the pilgrims them selfs could be considered immigrants. Todays America is made up of 100’s of different cultures and heritages, with roots leading back to all over the world. What it means to be an American means different things to different Americans. One American, Jean Mapou, a Haitian-born American Citizen, said in a 2016 interview that being an American requires you to contribute to your country, helping to create the “dream” for others. Based on our history, current statistics, and individual narratives, i believe that amarica is infant a nation of immigrants, personally i know that i come off of the whitest american to ever exist but i personally know of 10 roots from different countries from across that world.
